Milestones...

Yesterday was our twelfth anniversary. And before you goggle at that info (as I did when I realized it), bear in mind that I met Kevin and started dating him, before I turned 21. He knew my sister before she was a teenager.
Egad.
Anyway, it was a fairly low key affair- we had planned to go to dinner and a movie on Friday, but that just happened to be the day that we stole the manhood from our poor unsuspecting puppy (he never even got to enjoy it!). So we stayed home for the suicide watch.

He suspected nothing...
Anyway, we didn't do much, but I made brownies. Not usually my favorite things in the world, but these were FABULOUS. To top the brownies, I made homemade vanilla ice cream. It was also wonderful. For dinner we had lamb souvlaki, which was just okay. Remind me to buy Greek yogurt instead of regular next time- it will make all the difference to my tsatziki sauce.
Other than that, I made focaccia and Jewish apple cake this week, both of which came out very well.

And here are some random pics of the various small people:

Trying to catch bubbles at Grandma and Grandpa's house

This one waved at me this week!
Also my grandmother was put in the hospital for bacterial pneumonia. They let her go home, but she sounds awful. We think we're going to go to Ohio and kidnap her this weekend. Wish me luck!
I'm sure there's more going on, I just can't think of anything right now. Mental deterioration, you know?

Don't vote for McCain!

Okay, there are LOTS of reasons not to vote for him, but this quote should turn the blood in your veins to ice and cause your hair to grey instantly:
I will veto every single beer...
GAH!
Now, I understand it was a slip of the tongue, but what if HE WAS THINKING IT?
GAH!
Stop him now!
GAH!

You know you're having a bad day...
when lightning strikes your car:
Sigh.
But it could have been worse.
"Several in the community were injured in the storm, none as bad as 66-year-old Diane Hester. She was ripped from her home and impaled by a tree. As she recovers in an Indianapolis hospital, a neighbor tried to find anything of Hester's left behind."
