Traffic woes...
piss me off.And the fact that not much is being done about it also pisses me off.
For example, the Metro will not be coming to Frederick. People have been complaining bitterly about traffic issues along i270 for decades now, but its been determined that its not worth the money to allow for public transportation into Washington DC. Instead, they are considering buses. BUSES. So, you can be trapped on a bus for 2 hours tied up in traffic to get into DC. What fun. A Metro rail would be FAR superior. Maybe they will do the light rail, I don't know- that would be better than buses.
I do agree with my friend Alala though, petitioning for cheaper gas is useless, bad for the environment, etc. I personally hope that gas DOES get more expensive, and that the governments are forced to come up with public transportation to remedy the situation. One of my favorite things about Boston was that you could get ANYWHERE on the T, all the while sipping a coffee and reading the newspaper and totally avoiding the stress of traffic. Why DC and the surrounding areas lack acceptable transportation is beyond me. Not that I'm an expert- but there has to be a solution.
