Tom Waits...
is TRULY my favorite performer. I love all of his music, and I love the movies he's been in as well (okay, not so much on Dracula, but HE was great).
Last night's concert was exceptional to say the least. He's a rare treat live, and I had only experienced that up to this point with bootleg and live albums. And the venue was spectacular. My only disapointments were Akron itself, which was really pretty dead (the two open restaurants we could find were swamped, although I had some good mimosas) and some of the crowd. I mean- who would have thought there would have been a fight? ruckus? altercation? I have no idea what it was, but it was at the very least bad behavior on someone's part. People behaved better at the Pogues' concert I went to this year- and they were occasionally threatening violence to each other. And to those of you who feel its necessary to get up every five minutes to get your piss-water beer, take a leak, or just chat, GROW UP!. Learn to sit still for a couple hours! What are you, five?! Jeez.
