That's not cheating. You are free to use any resources you have to hand, you can even do stuff like choose Natalie Merchant and then include a few 10,000 Maniacs songs in the list (ditto Annie Lennox/Eurythmics, Tanya Donnelly/Throwing Muses, etc). Only thing you can't do is make stuff up, like 'oh sure, the Pogues had a song called "My Daughter's Really Cute", dude, everybody knows that.'
