Moving day is over!

So, the big day has come and gone. We closed on the house on Friday in the morning- absolutely no hitches, signed every piece of paper put in front of me (didn't read word one- I'm probably an indentured servant now). The house is ours!

And I love it. I really do. We went in on Friday and I painted the kitchen chocolate brown where the cabinets are. I had more difficulty getting the wallpaper off the walls in the kitchen, so I haven't completely added the alternate color, which was called "Warm Brioche" but was more like a marigold yellow- needless to say, I HATED it. I don't like yellow in the first place, and this is atrociously bright. So we will be completing the kitchen with "Sweet Tomato". I think it will look much better. At least I hope so.

And I painted my bedroom Tibetan Red, and I painted the floor in the spare bedroom black. Those both look great. In fact, I like the black so much that I think I am going to paint the upstairs hall and stairs black. Should look pretty sharp.

Meanwhile Kevin was painting murals in Rora's room, which really paid off when she first saw them and said to Kevin, "Oh, Daddy! They're beaaoootiful!".

The next day was Saturday- the move. Pretty tough actually, and we had lots of help. Jamee, Michael, Nate, Patrick, Kevin and I slaved for a good part of the day to get everything out of the apartment (which is on the third floor- no elevator), and into my house. Even Mike's dad helped (that dude is pretty strong!). We managed to get almost all of it the first day. Thanks so much guys! And special thanks to Mike's parents and Emily for watching the kids!

Sunday and Monday were spent finishing up a bit, unpacking, getting things straightened up- and all and all its looking pretty good. We can't find socks, and Rory's winter coat has gone missing, but the only thing broken so far was my new mirror- and the dog did that. So we are doing pretty well.

And I love the house- that's the best thing. Its the perfect size for me, the perfect shape. It has a great feel to it. Just a good vibe. I couldn't be happier.

Yay! Okay, I'm working on a visit, can't wait to see the guest room! I just have to turn the Guilt Ray up to 11 and focus it on He Who Holds The Purse Strings. Heh.
