Probably bogus..
This is probably bogus, but I want an MP3 player so badly that I am actually willing to post this here. Supposedly if 5 people go to this site using this link:http://www.freeiPods.com/?r=13040362
and then subscribe to Blockbuster or whatever, they will send me an Ipod. I know, I'm dreaming.

Dad would be proud...
Back story:My Dad is a really good musician, and he completed a disc for us and another for Rory, which we listened to this weekend. End of back story.
Rory immediately recognized his picture on the disc, and was really excited about listening to it (she really likes music). So we sat in the living room wrapping presents and listening to the album, while I told her about what she was listening to. I explained that it was her Grandpa singing, and that he really liked to sing, and that he used a guitar to make the music. Now, she has a little plastic guitar (I say little, but its really a bit too big for her), that we salvaged from a neighbor's yard sale, so I was able to show her what I meant. So, after bopping around to Dad's music for a little while (She really liked "Along the Watchtower"), Rory picked up her guitar, and proceeded to spend the WHOLE REST OF THE WEEKEND, stomping about the house, singing at the top of her lungs and strumming the guitar. What was she singing? I have no idea, but the words and music were her own. Something about turtles, purple bubbles and puppies. Over and over again. And after each song ended, she would strum the guitar with this big flourish (think Pete Townsend), and then wait for the applause.
Thanks, Dad.

What were you thinking??
Judi Dench? What was on your mind? Karl Urban, how could you follow up LOTR with this? And Colm Feore... okay, that one I can see.I know, they must have sent you a contract that made it seem as if Sam Mendes was directing Shakespeare, but in the little bitty fine print it said, "We're lying, you have to be in The Chronicles of Riddick, a really stupid sequal to a really stupid movie which will star Vin Diesel, yes, Vin Diesel. And not only that, but Karl Urban has to have the worst mullet on the face of the earth. Ha ha!".
Here's the plot summary from IMDB:
Riddick, now a hunted man, finds himself in the middle of two opposing forces in a major crusade. Colm Feore plays Lord Marshal, a warrior priest who is the leader of a sect that is waging the tenth and perhaps final crusade 500 years in the future. Judi Dench is Aereon, an ambassador from the Elemental race. She is an ethereal being who helps Riddick unearth his origins.
Yes, its that bad.
And I watched the whole thing. I blame Kevin.

Duh!
Okay, so I was thinking I had no news to share today, but of course I do! I'm going to be an Aunt! My little sister just told us last week that she's going to have a baby in July or August (is it terrible that the big sister in me is snickering over her being 9 months pregnant then? I'm a bad person). Anyway, we spent this weekend with her and her husband Michael. I made them a Thanksgiving dinner for her birthday (don't ask), and we discussed baby names. So far, Zoltan Robinson is top of the list.I feel all empowered....

In other news:
This weekend we celebrated my sister's birthday by having Thanksgiving dinner. It was lovely. And Rora has a cold.
Okay, that wasn't much as far as news goes, but beggars can't be choosers. And trust me, if you're here, you're begging.

It would have been laughable...
except the movie just wasn't funny. Or scary, or interesting or anything positive. I'm talking about "Phone Booth", starring Colin Farrell. Now, my first, inherent problem is that I simply don't think Colin Farrell is sexy, and from what I've gathered, that's his sole charm. Add to that a crap script, ludicrous dialogue and poor directing. Unwatchable. Which is why I knitted almost a foot of my lopsided wierd-looking scarf yesterday. At the complete opposite was "Coffee and Cigarettes", which I thought was great. Especially the Alfred Molina and Steve Buscemi bits. I love Jim Jarmusch.
Tonight we have a holiday party to go to, so probably no movie, although we have "The Blind Swordsman" and the (new) "Stepford Wives" sitting at home. This also means that I'll have to miss running with the rugby team tonight, which is sad, 'cause my butt is slow.

Comments?
This is all new to me, and apparently friends are having problems posting comments. I don't know why. I'll figure it out though, hopefully by tomorrow. Or Friday. Or whenever. Bleah!Your average Wednesday...
Last night, Rora got up at 2 AM and slipped silently into our room. Kevin woke up (as he always does) and picked her up to take her back into her own room. Once there, she got sad and said she had a booboo on her head, so he kissed it. Then, after he put her in bed, she found several other booboos which he also kissed, after which she smiled, turned over and went back to sleep. She's odd.
