AA’s Holiday Buying Guide: Part II
Dec 13th, 2009 | By Kevin M. J. Smith | Category: Articles, Featured Article, Full PintsAs I noted n the last installment of the Holiday Buyer’s Guide, I don’t own any of these products, so I am not actually endorsing any of them, I’m just here to give you ideas. The bottom line, my research department (the wife) found lots of cool beer-related shit on-line, and I’m passing the department’s research on to you, my reading public.
Are these things that those at the Amber Age might own themselves, you might ask. And I can say, there are some of these things I would indeed buy for myself – the hopside-down pints come to mind. Anyway, I digress. This isn’t about me. It’s about what I can do to help you put together your Christmas gift list, whether it’s the stuff you want, or the stuff you want to get for the big craft-beer lover in your life.
So, here are some of the other unusual items we snagged in what is an “all Etsy” edition of the Buyer’s Guide (remember, none of the prices here include shipping costs, which will vary per item):
Is the subject of your gift buying into recycling – like hard-core into saving the environment? And recently reproduced? There’s a little, future beer drinking, recycling environmentalist running around that person’s house? Maybe the little one is running around nekkid as a jaybird?
Then checkout the onesies made from recycled tee-shirts at TheJumpOff’s shop on Etsy:

These babies run $32.00, although it appears that you can inquire as to rates for having your tee shirt converted into a onesie for that nekkid little one.
Maybe you’re tired of your husband wearing that tired, old Co-Ed Naked Beer Team tee-shirt he’s had since he was in college…you know, back when the world was still young. You know, back before computers, cars, or maybe even fire? Update that beer lover’s weekend wardrobe with beer tees from Munchey’s -
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=36334490&ref=sr_gallery_17&&ga_search_query=beer&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=18&includes[]=tags&includes[]=title
The tees run around $15.00 and have simple slogans such as “Beer Hunter” and “Bier zum fruhstuck!” (beer for breakfast) emblazoned across the front.
Looking for some unusual drink-ware – the silly, or maybe just something ceramic and with a little heft?
For $32.00 at AmyEsther on Etsy, you can get your beer guzzler this 18 to 20 oz hand-thrown ceramic mug. All of AmyEsther’s ceramics are both microwave and dishwasher safe and practically take a magnum of beer to fill.
AmyEsther’s beer mugs can be found at:

But if RenFest-style ceramics aren’t really your thing, but being a mustache-twisting villain who likes to tie damsels in distress to train
tracks, but you’re still looking for a mustache to call your own, you might want to check out BreadandBadger’s mustache pint glasses. For $28.00 you get a pair of B-and-B’s glasses that will have you chillin’ like a villain…from a 1930’s Western
Breadand Badger’s pints can be found here:

Do you know a craft beer lover who gets the sampler at every brew pub he or she visits? Maybe they’re the person that goes to the liquor
store looking to buy the sampler packs, or even likes to put together mixed sixes from the loose beers. They’re on that never ending quest to find great beer, and will leave no bottle untipped. This might just be the gift for them – a burled maple mini-brew sampler, complete with glasses. For $49.00 from Tauntongreen’s shop on etsy, this set will allow your beer lover to pour, smell, see and taste each of those various brews separately. Just like at the brew pub.
Tauntongreen is willing to custom make these, with prices adjusted for size and materials. For more information, contact them at the shop at:

And finally, a couple of stocking stuffers. First, from Glassworksnorthwest there are some reasonably priced, hand-made glass ornaments.
These can be had for the low price of $10.00 at:

Or you can always get this bottle opener for the Lewis Carrol/beer fan that you know. Made by Flirtbuttons, you can order this small item that fits comfortably in your pocket for $5.00 at:

Happy hunting and happy holidays all.
